Being close to 50 years old while tallying up residences in 7 different states and three other countries besides the US, you can imagine I’ve worked at quite a few different places. Here in Des Moines specifically, I’ve led creative efforts at a couple of different tv stations and steered strategy at other marketing and advertising agencies. Since landing as business partners with one of the most creative folks I know, Dave Makin, at Nexus 6, we’ve developed the No Bullshit Guarantee (NBG).
We tell all of our prospects and partners to be different and you can bet that we practice what we preach! I mean, if you haven’t checked out our website, I’m quite certain that you’ll come away knowing that we’re different from the other folks. We live and breathe our brand that’s based around a line of androids in the classic Sci-Fi movie, Blade Runner. The Nexus Replicants (the film’s version of androids) began as the model Nexus 1 and ultimately ended with the Nexus 6. The Nexus 6 models – were virtually identical to a human being. Marketed as being “more human than human,” the Nexus-6 had superior strength, agility, a wider temperature range tolerance, and variable intelligence. That’s in essence what we are – the Des Moines advertising agency where humanity and technology meet.
There’s so much more to write and show off about working here and I plan on doing that over the next couple of months. Next time around, I’ll dive more into our NBG and our value-based pricing, where you pay for work and results… and not for that brand new building with bouncy chairs, candy walls, and a new pool table that seems to be all the rave nowadays in our industry. (We go with cheap Nerf guns, instead.)
At the end of the day, we are all Nexus 6… a group of individuals who are valued for their own ‘individual’ opinions, where everyone can be themselves and not be bogged down by controlling business owners.
